Preparing and cleaning an artificial Christmas tree is simple, but can also be time-consuming. How To Clean Your Artificial Christmas Tree Before Decorating

First, carefully remove your tree from its box or storage bag. Then, start wiping the tree with a soft, dry cloth or a fiber duster starting from the top, from its branches, trunk, then down to its base.
You can also use a vacuum with a bristle brush used for upholstery or a hand vacuum. Make sure to test a section at the base of the tree first to see if the vacuum can safely clean the dirt off the branches and not damage the tree.
For pre-lit Christmas trees, clean its branches with a vacuum before wiping each lightbulb with soft, dry cloth carefully.

How To Clean Your Artificial Christmas Tree Before Storage

For your safety, make sure to unplug Christmas lights before taking them off and all decorations from your tree.
Give it a quick sweep with a vacuum or a clean, dry cloth.
Dismantle the tree according to instructions.
Compress all branches carefully and ensure that there are no unnecessary strains on the branches and lights.
For pre-lit Christmas trees, wipe branches with a clean, dry cloth. Start from the top and gently work your way around the light bulbs.

How To Care For And Clean A White Christmas Tree

Compared to regular Christmas trees, dust and dirt are easily visible on a white Christmas tree. Keep your white tree spotless by cleaning and storing it properly after every holiday season.

Same with a regular Christmas tree, follow the general care tips on how to clean it as mentioned above.
After cleaning, wrap your tree in clean white paper before storing, then place it inside its storage container.
Avoid using water and other cleaning agents on your tree as these may change or destroy its material, and may invalidate the product warranty.

How To Care For And Clean Frosted Christmas Trees

Frosted Christmas trees require a different kind of care compared to a traditional Christmas tree as there’s no need to dust your frosted tree, since this could very well damage its flocking material which makes it look frosted with snow.

First, set up your tree in a cool, dry place and away from humidity and direct heat.
Since frosted trees tend to shed, avoid making unnecessary contact against the branches and tips to prevent excess shedding.
Gently compress the branches of your tree, then place it in a secure storage bag to keep the flocking material intact and lessen contact from anything that may cause it to shed.

We know that you and your artificial Christmas tree are ready now and waiting to start on the decorating. We hope this guide from AllHome has given you helpful tips on how to clean and care for your artificial Christmas tree so you can enjoy its beauty for many holidays to come!

New Year New Adventures in San Diego for 2023

Is going on an adventure one of your New Year’s resolutions? If so, you should look into San Diego whale watching tours. These family-friendly activities offer wonderful experiences, making them the perfect way to start your new year.

Why Should You Start Your Year With Whale Watching?

Watching whales is a truly unique experience. After all, how often do you get to see animals in their natural habitat? Tours last about three hours, but the memories will stay with you forever.

Create Amazing Memories

Seeing whales’ true size can be a thrilling experience, especially if you’ve never seen one before. Witnessing the awesome might of these intelligent, powerful animals can help you connect with nature like you never have before.

Even better, you can share these memories with others. Tours allow cameras, so you can capture these magical moments and tell stories about them long afterward.

Learn About These Incredible Creatures

Whale-watching tours aren’t just about seeing whales — they’re also an opportunity to learn about them. Guides share information about the particular species you see, as well as facts about the ocean. You can even learn ways that you, as an individual, can help these aquatic creatures and keep their home safe. The more people prioritize the ocean’s health, the more opportunities you’ll have to witness nature’s incredible versatility.

Speaking of keeping whales safe, make sure you choose a whale-watching company that considers the ecosystem’s health. The best companies enforce rules for the safety of passengers and whales, ensuring everyone has the best experience.

Whale Species for Whale Watching

Whale watching San Diego December tours gives you access to some of the ocean’s most magnificent creatures. Since whales migrate during this time, you have the opportunity to see whole pods making the journey. Of course, whales aren’t the only ones in the water — if you keep your eyes out, you can spot other playful mammals.

Whales

When you take a whale-watching tour, you have the opportunity to spot several common species:

Minke
North Atlantic right
Humpback
Sei
Fin

Unfortunately, the fin, sei and North Atlantic right whales fall under the endangered classification. So few of these whales exist that they may eventually die out, depriving the world of their majesty. Seeing them in person is an opportunity that may not last, so you should jump on the soonest tour possible.

Dolphins and Porpoises

Dolphins and porpoises are friendly aquatic mammals that hang around the harbor and sometimes appear near whale-watching boats. They’re much smaller than whales, with different species varying between five and nine feet, but they’re just as fun. If you’re lucky, they may come up to the boat, giving you an excellent photo opportunity, or perform tricks such as leaps and flips. Whale-watching is an experience you’ll never forget, as it offers an up-close look at some of the world’s largest animals. You can bring your significant others, kids and even furry companions since some companies accommodate sailing with a dog. Schedule your tour as soon as possible, as the spots fill up quickly.

Ben&Ben delivers a love song that is unapologetically bare in its messaging on “Dear”

After bagging five wins including Album of the Year at the recently concluded Awit Awards 2022, Ben&Ben returns with a new single that captures the essence of romantic love without forcing or expecting anything in return.

Setting itself apart from the conventional themes often associated with the subject, the nine-piece band encapsulates love that is earned through perfect timing and experience.

On “Dear,” Ben&Ben interprets a love song that is unapologetically bare in its messaging.

“We think it’s equally important to drop any notion of wanting to deliberately steer clear of potential sounds and themes we may have already done when being unapologetic and honest in songwriting and arranging,” the folk-pop collective says in a statement. “Like in love, the more you fight the feeling, the more one might feel internally dissonant.”

Penned by Paolo Benjamin and Miguel Benjamin, “Dear” serves as a reflection of the band’s collective and individual experiences with love so far and how one becomes stronger after going through bittersweet lessons in life. The song was recorded at A.R. Rahman’s Firdaus Studio during their time at Expo 2020 Dubai.

“Dear is a song that tries to capture the feeling of a deeper kind of romantic love; one that begins when a person surrenders the pursuit of a lover itself to a higher power,” reveals Ben&Ben.

From a production standpoint, “Dear” evokes the timeless feeling of nostalgia and earnestness, while capturing the sound of a generation drawn into ‘70s singer-songwriter calm and pop-rock vigor.

“Not only were we able to use their world class studio space and equipment, but we also had the pleasure of working with the stellar team at Firdaus Studio, including Peter El Khoury, Alexander Theux, Theodore Danso, and Ali Hassan,” says the multi-award-winning band. “Unlike most of our tracks that we record individually in the studio, we decided to record this one together as a full band, and we feel the final track really reflects that more ‘old-school’ feeling of looseness and authenticity.”

Ben&Ben hopes that music fans will connect instantly with the song and get a very valid answer to the question, “How do I know when I’m sure about somebody?” As the Paninindigan Kita act puts it, “We also just really hope this song connects people together in a way that they remember the people in their lives whom they can really call ‘Dear’ as well.”

Ben&Ben’s “Dear” is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment.

Gather the fam together for an abot-kayang salu-salo at Mang Ding’s Pinoy BBQ

It’s around that time of the year again when we get together with our nears-and-dears over a hearty meal.

This extended family gathering is the perfect occasion to bond with relatives that we might not see so frequently to exchange news, exclaim on the fast growth of the young ‘uns or celebrate each other’s successes for the past year.

While quarantine restrictions no longer prohibit us from throwing a shindig for the fam, our budgets might give us some pause.

Well, at Mang Ding’s Pinoy BBQ in Marikina, that won’t be a problem.

Known for its malinis, masarap at mura selections of down-home Pinoy dishes, Mang Ding’s can serve up viands that surely count among the family’s faves. From Pinoy appetizers and side dishes, barbecues and ihaw-ihaw, to sizzling plates and crispy fried food, plus a selection of local beers and sodas, Mang Ding’s is a return to treasured childhood dishes to some and an introduction to down-home Pinoy flavors to others.

Ensaladas. Side salads that combine sweet, sour and salty fresh flavors from tomatoes, onions and bagoong. The Ensaladang Mangga (Php125) and the Ensaladang Talong (Php75) are perfect companions for Mang Ding’s grilled and fried offerings.

Salted Egg Boneless Bangus (Php295). Grilled marinated milkfish topped with chopped onions, tomatoes and slices of salted egg.

McJolly Pakpak (Php325 for half-kilo | Php550 for 1 kilo). Crispy deep-fried chicken wings that’s a kiddie favorite for sure!

Isaws. Did you know that the name saw comes from the word sawsawan, or the sauce that these street food delicacies are dipped in? I’m everyone in the fan won’t have enough of Mang Ding’s Isaw Baboy Bilog (Php45/stick) and Isaw Manok (Pho28/stick).

Pork BBQ (Php45/stick). The Pinoys’ favorite sweet and savory pork barbecue made with tender slices of marinated pork grilled to smokey perfection.

Tuna Panga (Php100/100 grams). If the kiddos’ conception of tuna is something flaky that comes from cans, then it’s high time to introduce them to the massive jaw of tuna marinated in a sweet soy-based sauce and grilled to smokey goodness.

Belgian Chocolate Slice (Php175). Of course, every family meal deserves a sweetly happy ending. A slice of this moist chocolate cake topped with a decadently rich chocolate icing is just the ticket!

Aside from its delicious and affordable menu items, Mang Ding’s laid-back and relaxing atmosphere is conducive to lingering and catching up with family members.

I should know: I’ve spent quite a lot of time here with my own extended family, officemates and fellow foodies, and our dining forays here always extend by hours, simply because we don’t want our time together to end.

So here’s your perfect venue for a family get-together this holiday season and beyond!

Psst! You might want to take advantage of Mang Ding’s Family Platter which already includes Pork BBQ, McJolly Pakpak, Boneless Bangus Overload, Ensaladang Talong and steamed rice good for four to five persons, all for just Php998! What a delicious way to go for an abot-kayang salu-salo, right?

Television and radio host Susan Enriquez recently shared that her new bed-and-breakfast, Balustre Cerca, will be open to the public very soon. The property is situated within a shared farm lot she jointly owns with fellow news colleagues Mark Salazar, Atom Araullo, Branden Milla, and Alex Baltazar — and this is where the five and their families regularly go to take a breather from life in the metro. The beautiful farm comes with four A-frame air-conditioned cabins, one swimming pool, a pavilion, an outdoor kitchen, and parking.
