The heart of Ortigas shimmered with festive warmth and inclusivity on November 18, as Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn & Suites Manila Galleria hosted their annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony, aptly named An Iconic Light-Up. Far from being just another seasonal event, this year’s celebration stood out for its powerful partnership with the Autism Society Philippines (ASP), offering a meaningful reflection on the spirit of togetherness and acceptance.
A Night to Remember
The evening began with an air of enchantment as ushers transformed into ballerinas, setting a whimsical tone that promised surprises at every turn. Dignitaries and honored guests, including Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte and Department of Tourism (DOT) Assistant Secretary Sharlene Batin, joined the festivities, underscoring the significance of the event. Dani’s renditions of White Christmas and Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree filled the room with joy, while Luis’s soulful interpretations of The Christmas Song and Christmas in Our Hearts sparked an impromptu sing-along, uniting the crowd in holiday cheer.

Through the Hoteliers for a Day program, Rhav, Dani, Marlon, and Abi—four remarkable individuals on the autism spectrum—stepped into roles as front desk agents and restaurant receptionists. Their seamless integration into these positions highlighted the hotels’ steadfast commitment to creating workplaces that are not only inclusive but celebratory of neurodiversity.
