A staycation is always a refreshing break from the routine, and our recent getaway to Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria was no exception. As part of the “Weekend That Never Ends” concept, this experience was designed to blend leisure and business seamlessly, making it perfect for our group of foodie friends and content creators.

From well-appointed accommodations to exciting dining options and convenient access to nearby attractions, our staycation was a delightful escape from the everyday hustle.

The Concept of “A Weekend That Never Ends”

The “Weekend That Never Ends” is more than just a catchy name; it’s a thoughtfully crafted experience that bridges leisure and business. By connecting Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria with its sister hotel, Holiday Inn Manila Galleria, the concept offers a smooth transition between relaxation and work. For us, this meant enjoying a relaxing stay without the hassle of changing locations or reorienting ourselves between activities.

This integrated approach provides a host of benefits. We were able to enjoy the combined amenities of both hotels, from recreational facilities to diverse dining options. The prime location in the Ortigas Business District added to the convenience, putting us close to shopping, dining, and entertainment venues.

As one of the metro’s premiere business hotel, Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria is quite striking with its elegant contemporary design. Having previously organized and attended events in the hotel’s various function rooms, I had always admired the venue’s refined style, delicious catering and excellent service. Finally being able to stay here as a guest was an exciting prospect.

Our Suite Experience

We were accommodated in two newly refreshed adjoining one-bedroom suites. These suites shared a common anteroom with its own powder room, providing a comfortable and private space for our group to gather and catch up. The living area was equipped with a TV, a stocked minibar, and an office desk, making it a versatile space for both relaxation and work.

The first suite was a corner room featuring a king-size bed and a separate bath with a walk-in shower. The second suite had two twin beds and its own bath with a walk-in shower. Both rooms offered stunning views through floor-to-ceiling windows, overlooking Ortigas Avenue and the surrounding mountains.

Comfort was a priority, and the suites delivered. They were fully air-conditioned and equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi, ensuring we stayed connected throughout our stay. The combination of modern amenities and thoughtful touches made the suites a perfect retreat.

Culinary Adventures

Our staycation was not just about the luxurious rooms; the dining options at Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria were a highlight of our experience. We had the chance to explore a variety of culinary delights:

Seven Corners Restaurant

This international buffet is renowned for its seven interactive stations offering cuisines from around the world. From Italian and Japanese to Indian and Western, the array of options was impressive. I particularly enjoyed the Prime Rib steaks which were grilled to perfection, the fresh seafood cooked in buttery garlic sauce and indulged my sweet tooth at the dessert station, which had a tempting selection of treats.

Xin Tian Di Restaurant

Crowne Plaza’s flagship Chinese restaurant definitely did not disappoint. We enjoyed an unlimited dim sum lunch buffet featuring over 37 selections. The authentic Cantonese dishes were a hit with everyone in our group, providing a delicious and satisfying dining experience.

The Gallery Bar

For a more relaxed atmosphere, The Gallery Bar was the perfect spot. The innovative cocktail menu showcased the art of mixology with locally sourced ingredients while its menu of appetizing bar chows provide perfect companions to the bar’s drinks. Each month, the bar introduces a new “Cocktail of the Month,” and we were excited to try its Pride Cocktail crafted for Pride Month.

Crowne Plaza Club Lounge

Reserved for select hotel guests, the Club Lounge offered a refined and relaxing environment. It was a great place to unwind with snacks and refreshments, adding an extra layer of comfort to our stay.

Each dining experience was memorable in its own right, offering a range of flavors and atmospheres that enhanced our staycation.

Amenities

Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria shares leisure amenities such as an outdoor swimming pool, a 24/7 fitness gym and an on-site spa with its sister hotel Holiday Inn Manila Galleria.

We haven’t had the need to use its on-site Business Center, but the hotel provides what business travelers need such as copying/printing and scanning services as well as office supplies.

Nearby Activities and Attractions

Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria’s location in the Ortigas Business District provided us with ample opportunities for exploration and leisure. Directly connected to Robinsons Galleria Mall, we had easy access to shopping, dining, and entertainment. Whether we wanted to pick up a few groceries, shop for new clothes, or catch a movie, the mall had something for everyone.

Although our schedule was tight, we noted other nearby activities worth exploring. The historic EDSA Shrine and the No-Car Sunday events along Emerald Avenue offer cultural and outdoor experiences. These attractions add to the appeal of the area, making Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria an excellent base for both business and leisure.

Overall Experience and Final Thoughts

Our staycation at Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria exceeded expectations in many ways. The comfortable and well-appointed suites provided a perfect blend of comfort and style, while the diverse dining options catered to our foodie cravings. The hotel’s location and connected amenities enhanced our experience, making it easy to transition between relaxation and work.

Dining in style and comfort

The setting certainly helped to spotlight the artfully arranged dishes in their respective stations. We noted that the recent renovations have given the space a refreshing, airy feel, with sleek furniture and stylish lighting accentuating the modern décor. The welcoming and comfortable atmosphere makes it the go-to place for families, creating an inviting environment where guests can relax and enjoy their meals. The spacious layout ensures that whether you’re dining with a large group in a private room or enjoying an intimate meal in a window-side booth, there’s a perfect spot for you.

A flavorful journey across seven delicious world cuisines

The concept behind Seven Corners’ buffet is as impressive as it is diverse, featuring seven unique stations that celebrate the richness of world cuisines. Each station offers a distinct culinary adventure, showcasing the expertise and passion of the chefs.

Salad Station

We were welcomed into the restaurant by the Salad Station, a vibrant display of fresh greens, sliced vegetables and fruits, as well as a variety of nuts and dressings. The importance of balancing our meal with lighter, refreshing options was evident here. The assortment of crisp, colorful ingredients enticed us to create our own salads, setting a healthy tone for the feast ahead (or at least minimizing our guilt from indulging ourselves later in the meal).

Pizza & Pasta Station

The Pizza & Pasta Station, across from the salad station, is where the aroma of freshly baked pizzas fill the air. The customizable pasta dishes were a highlight, with chefs preparing pasta to order right before our eyes from our selections of pasta noodles, sauces and toppings. The delightful variety of breads, cheeses, jams, and cold cuts off to the side added to the experience, offering a taste of Italy’s finest.

The four-cheese pizza, with its rich and gooey texture, is another highlight.

Japanese Station

The Japanese Station, on the other hand, was a sensory delight as well. From the delicate slices of sushi and sashimi to the freshly made crispy veggie, fish and shrimp tempura, every dish was a work of art. The meticulous presentation – from the displays of sushi boats and the preparation of Torched Cheese Salmon – enhanced our dining experience, making it as visually pleasing as it was delicious.

Indian Station

The Indian Station introduced us to a world of spices and bold flavors. Dishes like Baingan Bartha, Aloo Curry, and Gobi Palak Masala tickle the palate, complemented by various chutneys that go perfectly with freshly made buttery naan. Each bite is a celebration of India’s rich culinary heritage.

Asian Station

At the Asian Station, we find a delectable array of Chinese, Southeast Asian, and Filipino dishes. The Filipino favorites such as Crispy Pork Belly was a standout, embodying the rich flavors of the Philippines. The make-your-own Singaporean Seafood Laksa experience was a must-try, as well as selecting fresh crab and shrimps to be sautéed in a special garlic butter sauce or oysters for baking upon order.

Western Station

The Western Station offers a taste of with American and European classics, such as grilled seafood, roasted meats, and the ever-popular US ribeye steak. The Roast Porkloin in Tarragon Gravy, Roast Chicken with Coriander and Lime, and Mediterranean Baked Fish are just a few of the tasty dishes that showcase the diversity of Western cuisine.

Dessert Station

No meal is complete without dessert, and the Dessert Station at Seven Corners does not disappoint. The wide variety of cakes, cookies, fresh fruit, and ice cream cater to every sweet tooth. Unique offerings like the chocolate fountains and a section of Filipino desserts such as Taho, Puto Bumbong, Bibingka, and other kakanins added a festive touch to the end of our meal.

Diverse culinary traditions in one place

For a foodie like me, nothing beats the joy and satisfaction of exploring diverse cuisines in one place. Each station offered a unique experience, showcasing the culinary craftsmanship and passion of the chefs. The meticulous preparation and presentation of the dishes reflect a deep appreciation for global cuisines, making each bite a memorable one.

Of course, the friendly and helpful attention paid to us by the servers made our meals here even more enjoyable. From anticipating our requests to imparting some niblets of interesting information for our posts, and even gamely taking our group pictures, the staff certainly went all out in ensuring we had a great time.

I’m happy to say the quality in food and service has been maintained throughout the three meals that my friends and I enjoyed here during our stay.

Recently, one of the highlights of my “A Weekend that Never Ends” staycation with foodie friends was the Unli Dim Sum feast at Xin Tian Di, located within the Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria.

About Xin Tian Di

Xin Tian Di blends the essence of classic Cantonese flavors with a modern twist, resulting in a remarkable dining experience. Its name translates to “New Heaven and Earth,” which encapsulates the restaurant’s innovative approach to Cantonese cuisine. Just as the historical Xintiandi in Shanghai transformed from obscurity to vibrancy, Xin Tian Di reflects the same spirit of renewal and transformation in its culinary offerings under the leadership of its new executive chef David Chu.

Xin Tian Di’s recently updated modern Chinese decor, featuring dark wood furniture with plush seating and intricate designs, soft lighting and elegant red accents, exudes sophistication while creating an inviting atmosphere. Floor-to-ceiling windows let in natural light in the daytime and provide a breathtaking view of the Ortigas district, while at night, modern light fixtures set the stage for an intimate dining experience. Throughout our meal, the quality of service was exceptional. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, enhancing our dining experience. Sharing this feast with friends made it even more enjoyable, as we relished each bite together and discussed our favorite dishes. Standout moments included the surprise of the spicy kick in the Spicy Pork and Shrimp Dumpling and the delightful crunch of the Deep-fried Chinese Bun with Condensed Milk. My friends tried to get me to dig in to the Chicken Feet but I was more into my all-time favorite Hakao, Pork Buns, and, of course, the dessert dumplings.

Cin Tian Di Unli Dimsum — Hot Chamomile Tea

The vast array of dim sum at Xin Tian Di demonstrates the remarkable versatility and creativity inherent in this beloved Chinese culinary tradition. Dim sum clearly encompasses a wide range of small, flavorful dishes that can cater to various tastes and preferences. Xin Tian Di’s extensive 37-dish dimsum menu showcases how this custom can blend classic Cantonese flavors with modern twists, offering a rich tapestry of textures, flavors, and presentations. This not only highlights the adaptability of dim sum to contemporary dining trends but also underscores its ability to continually evolve while retaining its traditional essence.

The Unli Dim Sum experience at Xin Tian Di was a culinary highlight that perfectly complemented our staycation at Holiday Inn Manila Galleria and Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria. After indulging in such a sumptuous feast, we felt so thoroughly satisfied that we were eager to retreat to our suite to recover, hehehe!

Looking for a place to escape to after work and while away the hours of congested streets and harried motorists? Need a new haven for refreshing drinks and delicious chows?

If you happen to live or work in or near the Ortigas Business District, you’re quite in luck because hidden inside Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria is a watering hole that’s sure to become your new favorite hangout: The Gallery Bar.

I initially discovered the charms of this vibrant and sophisticated spot when it served as the venue for after-party of Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony last December. Together with my fellow content creators, I made merry with bar’s chill vibes, as well as the plethora of appetizing finger-food and free-flowing cocktails served.

I thought then that I definitely wouldn’t mind hanging out here again.

Luckily, I had my chance when my foodie friends and I began our #AWeekendThatNeverEnds staycation at Holiday Inn Manila Galleria and Crowne Plaza Galleria by spending the early evening at The Gallery Bar.

With another memorable experience under my belt, I think I can sum up three things you will enjoy doing at this happenin’ hotspot.

The Gallery Bar is designed with comfort and style in mind, creating the perfect ambiance for you to relax and socialize. As you step into the bar, you’ll be greeted by a chic, modern interior that exudes warmth and elegance. Plush seating and windows that look out into the bustling ADB Avenue set the stage for a cozy evening, making it an ideal spot to unwind after a hectic workday. The highlight of the area, of course, is the bar which houses an impressive collection of spirits that will be made into various thirst-quenching concoctions. Its intimate setting encourages both quiet conversations and vibrant gatherings, making it a versatile space for various occasions.

2. Sipping on creatively crafted cocktails

One of The Gallery Bar’s standout features is its innovative cocktail menu, which highlights the art of mixology using locally sourced ingredients. Each month, the bar introduces a new “Cocktail of the Month,” showcasing unique flavors and seasonal ingredients. For instance, January’s Spiced Apple Sip offered a warm, comforting flavor perfect for cooler weather, while February’s Cupid’s Kiss added a touch of romance to many a Valentine date. March celebrates Women’s Month with the elegant Amethyst Swill while April brought a refreshing twist with a trio of Summer Drinks – the Trinidad Cobbler, Cucumber Gimlet, and Raspchee Collins – all expertly crafted to evoke the essence of summer and offer a delightful experience.

During our visit in the last days of June, my friends and I joined in on the Pride Month celebration with the Pride Cocktail’s vibrant, festive flavors.

A MAS PINASARAP anniversary foodie adventure at Seven Corners, Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria

A (not so) few years ago, my Significant Other and I decided to make it official and go through the adventure of married life together. The past several years had its ups and downs but they are always marked with significant milestones and great memories.

Well, these deserve to be celebrated in grand style, don’t they? So on our special day, Dear Hubby and I decided to go on a food adventure at Seven Corners, Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria’s renowned all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant.

A Warm Welcome and Stylish Ambiance

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the restaurant’s chic and contemporary interiors, a result of its recent renovation. The stylish lighting, sleek furniture, stunning view of the Ortigas business district from our window seat as well as the thoughtfully placed accent pieces all created an airy, refreshing vibe that set the tone for our evening.

We arrived a bit early so we were able to witness the frenetic energy of the chefs and servers meticulously plating and staging the stations and dining areas, ensuring that the whole experience is not just a feast for the tastebuds, but for other senses as well.

Exploring the Seven Corners

Seven Corners got its name from its diverse culinary offerings from around the world, spread across seven unique stations. Each station beckoned with a promise of a gastronomic adventure, and we eagerly embarked on our culinary journey.

Salad Station. Fresh greens, sliced vegetables, and an assortment of dressings, nuts and cold cuts awaited.

Pizza & Pasta Station. Fragrant breads, flavorful spreads, charcuterie, cheeses and freshly made pastas and brick-oven pizzas.

Japanese Station. A variety of sushi rolls, freshly cut sashimi, and crispy tempura. Hubby was pleasantly surprised to discover that his favorite miso soup was also available.

Asian Station. The Asian station offered a variety of Chinese and Southeast Asian dishes, including a combination of mussels, oysters and shrimp cooked upon order in a garlicky sauce as well as a variety of noodles and add-ons for a customized bowl of heartwarming broth.

Western Station. Classic American and European dishes including grilled meats and Spanish dishes such as Rabo del Toro, Chicken ala Madrilena and Gambas al Ajillo. The US Ribeye Steak was a standout, grilled the way we want it and accompanied by a variety of sauces and seasonings to cater to our differing palates.

Filipino Station. In celebration of Philippine Independence Day, the restaurant has a dedicated Filipino station – MAS PINASARAP – that paid delightful homage to our heritage, and brought back fond memories of family gatherings, thanks to viands loved by Filpino historical luminaries such as Tinola, Pork Binagoongan, Bistek, Fish Escabeche, Pinakbet and Sisig Rice. Of course, the star of the show is the Lechon de Cebu, herb marinated suckling pig with crispy skin that gives way to tender and flavorful meat.

Dessert Station. No meal is complete without dessert, and the Dessert station did not disappoint. From miniature cakes and cookies to Filipino delicacies like puto bumbong, bibingka and suman, the variety was astounding. Plus, samalamig in the form of gulaman and melon drinks add more refreshing sweetness to the meal.

Standout Dishes and Unforgettable Moments

Throughout the evening, we were impressed by the restaurant’s commitment to quality and flavor. Signature dishes like the prime rib-eye steak and the Lechon de Cebu. The staff’s recommendations, including the especially featured Pinoy dishes like the Kesong Puti Pizza and kakanin desserts, ensured that we experienced the best Seven Corners had to offer while exploring homegrown flavors.

Our anniversary celebration at Seven Corners was more than just a meal; it was our journey together through a world of flavors, expertly curated and beautifully presented. The combination of world-class service, exquisite dishes, and a stylish, comfortable setting made for a memorable evening, worthy of our very special occasion.

For anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy an exceptional dining experience, Seven Corners at Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria is definitely the place to be.

Lunch buffet is served Mondays to Fridays from 11.30am to 2.30pm, and Saturdays to Sundays from 12 noon to 3pm at Php2,700 per person. Dinner buffet, on the other hand, is served daily from 6pm to 10pm at Php2,900 per person.
