Korean barbecue craving satisfied at Arariyo

Arariyo (“fuzzy feeling love”) is part of the lyrics of Arirang, a popular Korean folksong.

A restaurant of the same name opened at the Q Plaza in San Isidro, Antipolo. It offers a slew of Korean dishes which include braised meats, noodles and seafood but it’s claim to fame is its Unlimited Korean Barbecue offer. For only Php399, you can eat all the samgyeopsal (grilled pork belly) and chadolbagi (grilled beef short plate) your heart (or tummy) desires. This resto is a good bet when the family has a severe craving for Korean food. Grilling the meats is DIY, but you can sate your hunger with the many side dishes while you’re cooking. For good measure, we also order a dolsot bibimbap (rice mixed with vegetables served in a hot stone pot) and treat ourselves to some Korean ice cream for dessert.

Note that lunch and dinner times may get crowded and you would have to wait for your table. Since the Korean Barbecue is unlimited, expect that guest turnover won’t be that fast. It would be best to arrive at least 30 minutes early so you can have your name listed and you will be called as soon as a table is ready.
