Tasty burgers for lunch at 8cuts Burgers

Every once in a while, you just want to let your inner carnivore out and indulge yourself with some tasty and protein-packed meal, right?

Well, that’s what Hubby and I did last Easter Sunday, not that we were heavily abstaining from meat during Lent.

However, when our original plan for lunch didn’t push through while were out on an errand in Makati, we espied a small branch of 8cuts Burger Blends along Leviste Street, and we knew we just couldn’t pass it up.

It had been years since we last had a meal at an 8cuts Burger Blends outlet, so we gamely entered this joint with a decidedly pub-like feel.

8cuts Burger Blends got its name from the eight different cuts of beef that are blended together into patties, then grilled to smokey and juicy perfection before being assembled into mouthwatering burger creations.

Needless to say, Hubby and I were quite excited to dig in to our burger meal which consisted of:

Onion Rings Bucket (Php215). Onion rings battered, deep-fried and seasoned until crispy and flavorful.

The Cheeseburger (Php230 for 1/4-pounder). Grilled quarter-pounder beef patty on lettuce, tomato and onions and topped with house cheddar and Sauce No. 3.

Q-Daddy (Php330 for 1/4-pounder). Grilled quarter-pounder patty on lettuce, tomato and onions, topped with peppered onion tanglers, sharp yellow cheddar, smoked bacon, jalapeno ranch, sweet BBQ sauce and Sauce No. 3.

Sodas (Php85 each). What’s a burger meal without some sodas?

Eating these burgers is not a neat affair. Being so meaty, juicy and packed with toppings, you can bet that there are some messes to be made. Plus, I also accidentally knocked over Hubby’s drink, which the staff helpfully cleaned up as they transferred us to another table to finish our lunch.

The place was cozy yet comfy and our quick meal here was a perfect side-quest during our errand-filled Saturday.

I don’t usually visit the Makati business district, but I’m glad that Hubby and I were able to revisit one of our old favorites here.

Then I divided the batter into two separate baking pans – one of which I topped with just chocolate chips and the other I topped with chocolate chips and chopped walnuts. After that, they went into a pre-heated 350-deg F oven and baked for a little over twenty minutes.

Once they’re done baking, I let them cool down for a few minutes then cut them into squares. Upon serving, I topped the brownies with a dollop of vanilla ice cream.

My kids loved them!

A cozy and hidden spot in a busy food haven

This little cafe tucked away in a quiet side street near the busy food hotspot Tomas Morato Avenue is the brainchild of young entrepreneur Decie Montefrio, who transitioned her thriving food delivery business during the pandemic into a lovely brick-and-mortar restaurant that serves a combination of Filipino and intercontinental dishes.

I just love its minimalist aesthetic and comfy furnishings, it offers you a bright yet cozy setting for a satisfying meal or a light repast, whether you’re going solo or with friends.

Plus, the place also offers WiFi access so you can enjoy a change of scenery as you study or do some remote work here.

Expanded menu to include snackables

Recently, Decie and her team expanded Silverspoon’s menu to also include lighter dishes, perfect for a quick lunch or snack in between meals.
